This picture book by Charlotte Dematons has no text, and it seems to lack a story. However, the observant viewer quickly discovers that the various illustrations of the city, the desert, the jungle, and the sea are somehow connected. Time and time again, a blue car appears, along with a fakir on a flying carpet, a convict in a prison uniform, and a yellow balloon. Both young and old will joyfully search for these recurring elements and thus reconstruct the story themselves.

Niels Holgersson, Baron von Münchhausen, Pippi Longstocking, Tutankhamun, Santa Claus, Rumpelstiltskin, and many other well-known characters from (children's) literature happily stroll across the pages, making this picture book a celebration of recognition.
